Columbus Day Weekend
Its been a really great fall birding season. Lot's of warblers. I should have kept track. There was one outing that included a black and white, a yellow, and a small flock of Parula's.
Anyway, it is Columbus Day weekend, and the warblers are still around. But the weekend's highlights were bigger.
This morning at Jenks I came face to face with a barred owl.
Saturday morning the Acton Arboretum was full of woodpeckers, including a couple of red bellied
and one pileated.
There were plenty of birds. I believe I saw two yellow warblers, one at Jenks and one at rolling meadows.
and some pretty sparrows, but I'm not sure which kind. Probably some white throated and some immature white crowned is my best guess.
