Gray Day, Good Birds

Morning birding near the tennis bubble.  Had nice views of some common birds: titmouse, chickadee's, woodpeckers of some sort.

The highlight was the Golden Crowned Kinglet.  First time sighting, though Lori and saw a Ruby Crowned version a couple of years ago at Jenks.

New Years Birding Acton

Walked outside and was surrounded by birds.

First, a Red Tail Hawk was chased off of Ayer Road by some blue jays.

Then the cherry trees were filled with Wax Wings

There were a ton of other birds as well.  Finches, Blue Jays, Cardinals, etc.

Christmas Birding in Arizona

it was a rainy cold week in Cave Creek, Arizona, but some birds were spotted.

The cartoonish Gambel's Quail are fun and wander around in family groups it seems.
They don't seem to fly.  They do sometimes get run over.

Also spotted a couple of humming birds, but not sure of the type.
Might have seen a roadrunner, but I'm not sure.

Not a bad trip considering the weather.
