Last Week in April Recap

 Well, it seems like the warblers finally started to arrive.  Saw multiple yellow rumps at the Acton Arboretum today.


I also so some type of thrush.  I'll guess Hermit, but I'm not really sure.


I also saw a Ruby Crowned Kinglet on Tuesday, and a Phoebe on Thursday.

April 12, Jenks

Quick, but worthwhile, morning stop on the way to work.

Three beautiful views: a singing Carolina Wren, a glowing Eastern Bluebird, and a hyperactive Pine Warbler.

April, 10 - Hagerland

At least a dozen or more ring necked ducks




plus a couple of hooded mergansers and one pair of wood ducks.

Asheville, NC - catch up

Spent six days in Ashville, NC.  Not a lot of birding, but a couple of new guys.

April 2 , Great Meadows

 A cold morning at Great Meadows.  Plenty of red-wing blackbirds, song sparrows, and grackles.

Saw one pair of wood ducks



and one lone American coot.


On the way out, caught a kingfisher fly by

April 1, Ice House Pond

 Stopped by the Ice House Pond mid afternoon and found three pairs of common mergansers.




First time I've seen them there.
