Fresh Pond with the Brookline Birding Club

Spent Saturday morning with the BBC at Fresh Pond.  Nice day, nice group, and some nice birds.  The highlights were

A green heron

A female common yellowthroat

Plus plenty of yellow rumps.

Acton/Boxborough Birding

A fair number of warblers are in town, particularly the yellow rumps.  The Arboretum, the parking lot at work, Hager Land all have warblers.

Great Meadows

 Sparrows.  And lots of them.

Song Sparrows

Swamp Sparrows

Savannah Sparrows (though didn't really see the yellow today)

Also a palm warbler

And a great view of a ospry (no fish in hand).

Hager Land Again

Went to Hager Land multiple times during late September and early October.  Brought Lori.  Brought Murali.  Saw wood ducks, fly catchers, and, with Lori, pileated woodpeckers.

Not sure what kind of fly catcher(s) I saw.  There were definitely phoebe's, but also birds with a bit of yellow on their breast, which could still be a phoebe.  So I guess we'll go with that.

The pileated's were great, as always.
