Hagerland

Made a couple of visits to Hagarland in Boxborough.

On 10/17, Lori and I went out with the (very good)  Boxborough Birders.  We didn't even have to leave the parking lot to get the best sightings of the day -  Ruby Crowned Kinglet, Blue Headed Vireo, and a Swamp Sparrow.

Went back the yesterday to see the wood ducks.  Also found a trio of Belted Kingfishers and I believe a couple of Ring Necked Ducks (previously seen at BC).

Acton Arboretum

Still plenty of Yellow Rump Warblers and White Throated Sparrows at the Arboretum.

But the star of the day was the Pileated

Chestnut Hill Reservoir

Friday morning at the Chestnut Hill Reservoir with Ross.  Not much but ducks.

This one is a Ruddy Duck.  The picture is posted on the Chestnut Hill Reservoir ebird hotspot site.

This picture of the correctly identified Ring-necked Duck is also from the Reservoir.

Arlington Reservoir

Visited the Arlington REservoir yesterday (Sunday).  Lots of ducks.  Mostly Mallards.

But I think there were also a pair of Muscovy Ducks

And one warbler, I think it was a Blackpoll

Sapsucker at the Arboretum

I was at the Acton Arboretum this afternoon and I saw my first ever Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.

Plus a ton of yellow rumps.
