Fathers Day

Started across from Bagels Plus and found an Oriole and a Cedar Waxwing.

Then went to NARA.  Struck on on the Indigos, but did find more Waxwings, a Cowbird, Bluebirds, and two Scarlet Tanagers.  The first Tanager was high in the trees along the path, where I've seen them before.  The second was low in the fruit trees near the small pond.  Didn't expect to see one there.

Steele Farm AM, NARA PM

 Good morning at Steele Farm.  

Started with Pine Warblers (I'm getting good at finding these).

Then found a Scarlet Tanager.

And finally a Rose-breasted Grosbeak.

Also, there has been a Carolina Wren singing behind the backyard since 5:00 AM this morning.

After dinner, I made a quick visit to NARA.

Saw an Indigo Bunting, though from a bit of a distance.  

And four Cedar Waxwings.

 Did a bit of birding over the weekend.  I found a pine warbler at the Boxborough WMA (first time there). I saw it singing/chipping, so the ID is definite.

Later in the day I went to NARA and saw my first Indigo Bunting of the year.  So blue.  I'll be back this week for more.
