Wow

Very good day in North Acton. 

First, a Belted Kingfisher

It was perched in a tree.  I saw one dive bomb, though not the results.

Then I spotted a Green Heron flying up from the water into a tree.
It starts out looking like this...

Then it extends its neck and looks like this.

I can't even find a picture that really captures the extended neck. 
Great bird.

Lastly, I saw a Blue Heron.

Add in the Orioles and Flickers from yesterday, and this was one very good birding weekend.

Catch Up

Finally saw an eagle last week.  We were driving from McWain to Freeport and saw it on our way into Norway.

Also, a couple of weeks ago had a juvenile  Rose-breasted Grosbeak sighting.

Fall Begins... or at least September

 Surprised by some Orioles at Jenk's this morning.
